Naga Bhut Jolokia seeds (Capsicum chinense)
For a long time habaneros were considered the hottest peppers in the world but since 2006 Naga Jolokia has held the title of "world record". Measurements determined that these chilis are over a million units on the Scoville scale, versus approx. 320,000 units for the habaneros. The fruit and seeds of these peppers should be handled with extreme caution. If you need to work with them wash your hands (and nails) with soap several times. Be very careful to not touch your face and especially your eyes. You can see some curious videos of people who have tried to "taste" these powerful chillis on YOUTUBE
