Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare) Plant

In the Middle Ages, this herb was used for menstrual disorders and intestinal parasites. Internal use is now avoided due to the toxic components. It is used topically for rheumatic problems and hemorrhoids. Tansy is also a repellant, for mosquitoes, moths and other pests. An infusion of its leaves (500gr plant in 10L water) combats potato beetles, aphids, moths, raspberry beetles, etc. We can also use the liquid to remove fleas from our dogs and cats, spraying the place where they sleep. Also at home you can hang bunches of dry tansy to repel mosquitoes.

The plant requires very little care and the yellow flowers add ornamental value to our herb garden.
