Seed Pack of Anti Mosquito Plants

People ask us again and again "What plants keep mosquitoes away from the garden, balcony, terrace and bedroom? Especially with the arrival of mosquitos from Asia that remain in the garden like a plague. Some people are allergic to mosquito bites and the swelling and itching lasts for many days. Our selection of mosquito seeds are easy to germinate and the plants also have ornamental value and have a place in the kitchen which is also useful.

We also recommend some small changes in the garden or in plant recipients :

• Mosquitoes love moisture and shaded areas so you have to prune / clear the branches and leaves a little to allow the entry of light.
• Mosquitoes are attracted to standing water, be sure not to leave traces of water in the watering can and if there is a reservoir to collect rainwater it should be covered with a mosquito net.
• If you have a garden pond fish are recommended (they will take care of the mosquito larvae) You can also can install a water pump so the water is always in movement, this mosquitoes do not like

Amount. 200 Seeds - Common Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)

Lavender flowers protect against moths, they can be left to dry clothes on a bush of lavender and this will be a protection against mosquitoes

Amount. 30 seeds - Catnip (Nepeta racemosa)

Catnip mint has an oil (nepetalacton) which is an anti-mosquito. It is also a beautiful ornamental plant with a long flowering period.

Amount. 100 Seeds - Catnip (Nepeta cataria)

Nepeta cataria has an oil (nepetalacton) which is an effective anti-mosquito. Also you can rub the fresh leaves on trouble spots (heels, knees), to keep them away.

Amount. 100 Seeds - Spanish Basil (Ocimum basilicum "minimum")

In general all basils are effective against mosquito because of their strong aroma but we chose this type because they can grow very well in a small pot and provide an anti-mosquito "mobile" plan: it can be placed on the table at dinner or in the bedroom. It must be in full sun during the day for maximum aroma.

Amount. 100 Seeds - Tagetes (Tagetes patula)

The strong aroma of tagetes keeps mosquitoes away. It is also a very useful plant to eliminate soil nematodes.

Amount 500 seeds - Tansy , (Tanacetum vulgare)

Its strong scent keeps your pets free of fleas, and a dry bunch repels house moths and mosquitoes. And it is also an anti-mosquito "mobile" plant.

Amount 50 Seeds - Common Sage (Salvia officinalis)

If you want your sage to have a strong aroma must be left in full sun, then it will keep mosquitoes away.

Amount 100 Seeds - Greater Plantain (Plantago major)

If you already have a mosquito bite can use fresh plantain leaves to reduce the swelling and itching. It also prevents the wound from getting infected.
