Syrian Rue, also known as Harmal, is a perennial, drought-resistant wild plant native to the steppes of Central Asia and the Mediterranean region. It grows as a herbaceous to semi-shrubby plant with finely divided leaves and delicate, whitish flowers. After flowering, it forms round seed capsules containing numerous small brown seeds.

Peganum harmala has a long cultural and spiritual history, in many traditional societies, it was used as incense or ritual plant, and is still considered in some regions to offer protection against the "evil eye."

Location: Sunny, dry, well-drained soil
