East Indian lemon grass Citronella (Cymbopogon flexuosus)

This plant has a pleasant lemon scent and is used as a medicinal and aromatic plant (for the production of aromatic oils). In the kitchen, especially in dishes of Thai cuisine it is also used although personally, for this purpose we prefer the variety "Cymbopogon citratus". Cymbopogon flexuosus seeds are often offered for sale with a photo of Cymbopogon citratus, however the plants are very different both in their habitat and their uses (Cymbopogon citratus is only vegetatively propagated, not by seeds). The East Indian lemongrass in traditional Indian medicine is applied as an antimicrobial and antifungal, and is also used in Ayurvedic medicine infusion.
