Malayan Banana (Musa Acuminata)
This type of banana reaches heights of up to 9 meters, its fruits measure about 9cm and are edible although they contain many hard seeds. Musa acuminata comes from southeastern Asia (Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka) and is a very resistant banana tree, although it does not tolerate frost. It obtains its fruits from the 2 to 3 years.
Care: banana plants grow very fast and need a soil rich in humus and nutrients (fertilize regularly). In addition they need regular watering.
