Yellow Rocoto seeds, Canary Locoto (Capsicum pubescens)

Canary rocoto is a truly exceptional type of chili with dark almost black seeds, and slightly hairy leaves. In the kitchen, this variety is suitable for sauces and of course a pleasure (if one likes spicy food).

Capsicum pubescens incidentally, does not cross with other varieties of chili, and the composition of the capsaicinoids is different so it causes a very special feeling of spiciness (heat) unusual even for experienced chili connoisseurs.

Since the Rocoto comes from the higher regions of Peru, Bolivia and Mexico it is significantly more resistant to cold than other varieties of peppers. On the Spanish Mediterranean coast almost all Rocoto plants can successfully survive the winter. Rocoto plants can reach an age of 15 years in suitable weather conditions.
