"Birdeye" Chili, pili-pili Seeds, (Capsicum frutescens)
Although this type of small leafed chili has only 2 cm long fruits, the plant thrives particularly planted out and can reach one metre high. Potted it is much smaller. This "Birdeye" chili is a typical spicy chili that comes from Africa.
Ripe fruits change from greenish to orange and then red and can be eaten both fresh and dried. Drying this thin skinned chili presents no problem. If the protected from frost the plant can live several years.
