Guava seeds (Psidium guajava)

The guava comes from South America, although it is now found in all tropical areas. Its fruit has an exotic bittersweet aroma. The pulp of this variety is pink with the consistency of an avocado. The ripe fruit can also be used as a complement in salads and is also thought of as a valuable medicinal plant in many tropical countries.

I found this strange story on the German Wiki:

"In traditional Chinese medicine a drug is obtained from its leaves. Additionally its leaves are fed to insects, mainly the Malaysian giant locust (Heteropteryx dilatata) and similar species, and their droppings are sold as pills. These are dissolved in water or wine. "

In South America the narcotic properties of its leaves are used especially for toothaches, and in Peru, Trinidad and Haiti they are used specifically for diarrhea. It is also often used as a paste made of crushed leaves on inflamed skin and blisters. The leaves seem to have an antioxidant, antibiotic and anti-allergenic effect.
