Purple Digitalis (Digitalis purpurea)

Digitalis contains a component the "digitalis" that affects heart function but all componentes are highly poisonous.

Digitalis preparations were well known in ancient times as a treatment for heart disease. They were produced especially from an extract of digitalis purpuea and digitalis lanata.

You should not have this beautiful shrub if you have pets that may chew plants or children who have access to the plant.
