Mandrake seeds (Mandragora autumnalis) Toxic

The Mandrake plant is probably the most famous and legendary of witch plants of Europe. This may be related to the human form of its roots and the potent hallucinogenic power of plant parts. In current literature mandragora autumnalis is considered a variation of the mandrake officinalis. In the Middle Ages mandrake was used in love potions and also as a narcotic and analgesic. Mandrake is a strong plant and prefers light and sandy soils.
