Ribwort plantain is also a traditional medicinal plant. Originally it comes from Europe but it has extended worldwide and is found in all areas of rural flora. Plantago lanceolata has bactericidal, anti-inflammatory and bronchodilator properties. Its high content of aucubin is possibly the origin of its antibacterial power.
