The cultivation of golden poppy is relatively simple, originally Eschscholzia californica comes from the southwest of the USA but can now be found in all temperate zones worldwide.
In the south of Europe, the plants can hibernate relatively easily and are partly perennial here.

Use as a medicinal plant:
The leaves of the golden poppy were used by the Native Americans for medicinal and spiritual purposes. In the Indians of North America, the leaves were chewed for toothache. The boiled flowers were rubbed into the hair against lice.
