Green Globe Artichoke (Cynara scolymus)

This exquisite plant’s flowers are harvested when they are still closed, but if we let them open some of them are really impressive. The artichoke plants can reach a height of about 2m and produce numerous flowers (artichokes). Over the years the harvest decreases but the plant lasts several years if the buds and roots are protected in winter by covering them with weed.

Tip: Sow indoor plants and replant them in February and in May outdoors
