Moldavian dragonhead Seeds (Dracocephalum moldavica)
syn:Turkish Lemon Balm
The Turkish Lemon balm is a relatively unknown tea and medicinal plant which found its way to Europe from the Near East in the 16th century. Due to the aroma, which is reminiscent of lemon balm, the Moldavian dragonhead is also called Turkish lemon balm.
The annual plants reach a height of about 50cm, the cultivation from seed is very easy.
Leaves and shoot tips get harvested in midsummer to be used.
The turkish lemon balm is also often an ingredient in digestive, liver and gall bladder teas. This plant essence is also used in the food industry and is contained as a flavoring agent in many teas and soft drinks.
Turkish lemon balm is also an excellent bee pasture due to its high content of nectar of its flowers.
