Thai ginger is original from southern Asia and is an important part of the cuisine in Thailand, Viet Nam, the Philippines and Indonesia.
Of all different types of ginger, this is one of the most robust varieties and feels particularly at home in partial shade.
Use in the kitchen (only the rhizome is used). The flavor is a mixture of ginger, black pepper and camphor and it's
especially used for curries, soups (e.g. tom yum soup) and sauces. Galanga root is also said to have a flavor-enhancing effect.
Galanga root has a whole range of healing effects and it's therefore also an important medicinal plant that is used for the following problems:
