In 2012, Trinidad Morunga Scorpion was nominated by the Chili Pepper Institute as the hottest chili in the world. The average sharpness of this pepper is 1.2 mill. in Scoville scale but some fruits can even reach 2 mill. in Scoville. Since that moment the famous  "gost pepper" (Naga Bhut) lost its title as world champion of sharpness.
This pepper rippens from green to dark red and the fruit shows a characteristic wrinkled surface.
